Week 7 EOC: Zuckerberg Manifesto

  • How do we help people build supportive communities that strengthen traditional institutions in a world where membership in these institutions is declining?
A supportive community really speaks to the engagement that the brand is providing. It is ensitial to build a community that is able to speak on your behalf, and that only really occurs if you have a clear message that is supported by effective communication with critical members of your network. Though it is part of the industry that is more hush tones about how it actually opperates. as this force a brand to create a hierarchy with in its own network giving
  • How do we help people build a safe community that prevents harm, helps during crises and rebuilds afterwards in a world where anyone across the world can affect us?
This is relative as what is one person's deffinition of safe is anothers of over protective, or intrusive, etc. I think if there are clear guidelines partnered with effective measures to intiate in the event something happens great but otherwise

  • How do we help people build an informed community that exposes us to new ideas and builds common understanding in a world where every person has a voice?
This becomes relative to what you want to inform the community of, though it may state that every person has a voice. There is really no true value to giving everyone a voice when it comes to building out a network, as it waste your time in having to sift through a lot of stuff. That is why it is important to focus your efforts

  • How do we help people build a civically-engaged community in a world where participation in voting sometimes includes less than half our population?
  • How do we help people build an inclusive community that reflects our collective values and common humanity from local to global levels, spanning cultures, nations and regions in a world with few examples of global communities?

How will you use this to advance your careers, in terms of maintaining a network.

To have a supportive, safe, informed, civically-engaged and inclusive community is a great goal to shoot for. But I think it is important to realize that things like this take time to build. Especially when it comes to my own career, there will be many test and trials that will put different elements in the network building into question. Though if the community and I are able to endure such test and come out with a better understanding and maintained goal and vision. It is truly a testament to the strength of that community.

I think the most important part of all this is the support aspect, because if this element fails or isn't present the others will not be as strong. Though there are those that work better alone, predominately we are social beings and the support of a like minded community in a focused pursuit is something that appeals to most people. But it is critical that it is something they want to pursue, so the support needs to be there but it must being built up with the other parts to ensure its ability to endure critics. Bringing it back to my initial point it is something I have to be constantly aware of and working on.
